Housing Virginia in partnership with BB & T and the Surdna Foundation is sponsoring Succession Planning, Leader Development and Managing Executive Transitions, in three one day regional sessions. In the Richmond session, Trainer and Organizational Consultant Lisa C. Burford from Transition Guides of Silver Spring, Maryland outlined key features of sustainable organizations, tying into succession planning as a core leadership and readiness competency. Two more sessions in Staunton (May 14) and Leesburg (May 1) are available.
Each workshop is providing participants with a comprehensive overview of succession planning, leader development and managing executive transitions. Participants can expect to:
- Learn about proven practices for succession planning, leader development and executive transition.
- Receive tools and example documents to begin emergency backup planning, succession policy development, and a succession inventory assessment for their organization.
- Understand how these tools are beneficial for executive and board succession and reduce risks related to transition.
Registration fees include one day of training, lunch, and materials including a copy of The Nonprofit Leadership Transition and Development Guide by Tom Adams.
Registration is priced at $125 for one member of your organization and $95 for additional registrations.
